Dossier #3. Do Athleisure Like Anna Porte, Vintage Heels, Water Shoes, $75 Art Prints & The Foundation Stick Worth The Hype.
A Tuesday Dossier filled with things that caught my eye...
Good evening,
This was meant to be out much earlier but it was a long weekend here so I feel I’ve lost a day. Well, I gained family time which has been so nice as the boys are both at particularly sweet ages. Aside from that, I have been helping a few women with their everyday wardrobe by creating personalised edits and outfit formulas. If you would like more info on how I can help you find your style again, reply to this email and I can send through my offerings and rates.
Anyway, onto this week’s round-up…
On my search for athleisure outfit references, I came across this cashmere hoodie and sneaker combo by .

I wrote about how I truly don’t enjoy wearing gym tights everyday but how easy it is to become stuck in the activewear vortex. Especially if you are the primary carer of small children. I couldn’t put my finger on what I don’t like about the activewear trend but I think it’s that now, with nearly everything, there is a tendency to over style our clothes as though it’s for the camera and not for actually living. The older I get the more I realise it’s about the quality, the sizing, cuts and how an item drapes that makes a look. I’m not sure what brand Anna is wearing (I couldn’t find it on her ShopMy) but this Theory hoodie looks similar and on MAJOR sale… and I am tempted!
Everyone needs Vintage Heels.
I’m never not looking for great vintage shoes and bags. To me shopping vintage is the simplest way to see what you actually like. Pay attention to what you are drawn to as opposed to what is drawn to you (the push rather than the pull of the algorithm). I was searching for a pair of summer heels and came across A LOT on Etsy. I’ve put together a little edit here ranging from $100-$900 that I’ll keep adding to. My tip for buying vintage shoes is to buy them in good condition, have them re-soled/re-heeled and to always ask the seller if they run small or if they are true to size because there’s no real way around the wrong size shoe.
Trend Prediction: It’s Going To Be A Water Shoe Summer.
Speaking of shoes, I think water shoes will be the new jellies.
added a “chic water shoe” to her summer round-up which I now have on my wish list. Then Irina Shayk wore a $15 pair which I also didn’t hate. Vogue called this her freakiest shoe of all time and I’m here for it. “Where others would be more inclined to style the look with a pair of trendy Adidas Tokyos or studious loafers, Shayk took a hard left turn, wearing a pair of water shoes. Yes, that’s right, she opted for a pair of black Wilcor neoprene slip-ons with pink piping. (You too can own them for just $15!)”Phoebe Stone is an Australian Artist I adore and who is now offering high quality prints for $75AUD.
I first met Phoebe Stone over zoom during Covid. She was a new artist (a trained interior designer) and had created a collection for Australian interiors brand, McMullin & Co. She was kind and warm, generous with her responses and just so darn lovely. Not to mention ridiculously talented. We bonded over family, food– often the subject of her art–especially seafood, and how Australians mark a special occasion by indulging in seafood, whether out or at home. I bought an original piece from her a few years ago which is still my favourite artwork in our home, and I now own four of her prints which are truly the high quality I would expect from Phoebe!
DIOR Skin Perfect Foundation Stick Is Worth The Hype.
Basically if it’s makeup in stick form, you have my attention. I like to keep it super simple with my out-the-door morning routine and bought this last week after trying on in store. I was shocked how much I liked it and how great the colour match is (I’m 2.5 N). So far it stays on all day, doesn’t look cakey but actually covers my pigmentation. All the TikTok girlies are right… worth the price tag and the hype!
Comment below and let me know what have you tried lately that’s worth the hype?
