Every morning, I’m rushing around trying to get myself and everyone else out the door, my toddler shrieking at my feet. He is at that age where he is into everything — including my makeup. I can still see remnants of the expressionist artwork he passionately scribbled on my bedroom wall with my Wherever Walnut lipliner. He was quiet. I knew he was up to something, but I had to get out the door.

I wish I were a type A — someone who meticulously plans out their week’s worth of outfits in order to make their days run smoother. But it’s just not me, well, at least not right now. So instead, I focus on what works and learn from what isn’t: Aka trying on a million different variations with Baby Basquiat on the loose.

I have my usual bases: jeans, black trousers, sweats, and gym tights (yes, very millennial of me)—combined with tees, tanks, shirts, and knitwear. Those don’t change a whole lot, but what does change is the dire…
